Course Description

| Brick masons work with stone, brick,
concrete, concrete blocks, artificial stone, and related materials.
Students learn to use these materials to construct walls, partitions,
fireplaces, chimneys, foundations, etc. Students will be taught to
read blueprints and must have a knowledge of mathematics in order to be
able to prepare job estimates. Masons should have average or above
average strength and stamina, as work may require lifting heavy units of
material repeatedly for extended periods of time. This is a
three-year program. |
Prerequisites: Applied Math
& Science, Measuring skills (linear, area, and perimeter).

There is a high demand for bricklayers in the Altoona area, as
well as throughout most of the United States.
