Electronic devices are commonplace in all phases of living. With this considerable advancement and the increase in number of electronic entertainment, communications, work-saving, and industrial devices, a strong working knowledge of electricity and electronics is essential.
This up-to-date, comprehensive three-year course in electronics meets all requirements for a technical education involving DC and AC circuits, transistors/semiconductors, integrated circuits, digital logic and electronic/computer applications. Students will also focus on the design, installation and use of various electronic devices including Audio/Visual, Alarm and Automation Systems as well as Basic Networking and Closed Circuit Television.
Students will have daily projects to complete in theory related and computer simulated labs. Class projects include Soldering, Robotics and Automation, our Electric Vehicle Program and installing "Smart House" technology in the latest CTC house build. The Electronics Technology Class will prepare the student for many certifications after he or she graduates. Some of these certifications include - Certified Electronics Technician (CET), Student Electronics Technician (SET) Home Technology Integration (CompTIA HTI+), and Residential ELectronics Systems Installer (RESI).
