SATISFACTORY
PROGRESS POLICY
In order to be making satisfactory progress towards a diploma, students must
maintain specified grade averages as well as proceed through the course at a
pace leading to completion in the specified time frame. For purposes of
determining satisfactory progress, each course is broken down into quarters.
Satisfactory progress is defined as meeting the following minimum
requirements: Students must maintain a quarterly minimum grade point average of
2.0 (on a scale of 4.0), 70%, or a "C".
Any student not achieving the satisfactory level will be advised by their
Program Instructional Supervisor of useful techniques in reaching or exceeding
the minimum requirements. Students will be reminded by the Program Instructional
Supervisor that students not achieving the satisfactory academic level of 2.0,
70%, or "C" average will be placed on academic probation for a period
of no longer than forty-five (45) calendar days.
While on academic probation, Title IV Federal Student Aid Funds will not be
negotiated by the school or disbursed. The student must demonstrate reasonable
progress toward the satisfactory level within the maximum 45-day time frame.
In the event of failure to improve to a satisfactory level within the prescribed
time frame, the student may be dismissed. Any unearned portion of funds received
by the school will be returned appropriately.
Students who wish to appeal the determination that they are not maintaining
satisfactory progress must submit a letter to the School Director. In cases of
extenuating circumstances, special arrangements may be made with school
officials. These cases will be handled on an individual basis.
