ADP programs are secondary two-year programs (Grades 11 and 12) and are currently available in the following area:

Health Care Technology
 (More info...)

    Associate Degree Prep is a sequence of study with applied academic courses taken in the home school and the technical component taken at the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center.  This program will continue through at least two years of postsecondary technical education to earn the Associate Degree.  This is a college prep course of study and presents an opportunity to cousin academic and technical education.  It prepares students for high-skill technical occupations and allows either direct entry into the workplace after high school graduation or continuation of study which leads to an associate degree.

    The Associate Degree Prep Program integrates academic and technical subjects, placing heavy emphasis on articulation from secondary to postsecondary education. Articulation between high schools and postsecondary institutions embodies a competency-based, technical curriculum, designed jointly by business/industry and secondary/
postsecondary schools, which teaches essential competencies without duplication or repetition.  The advanced skills required to complete an associate degree at the postsecondary level in a chosen career build on the strong academic and technical foundation at the secondary level.

    Students interested in the Associate Degree Prep Program need to be prepared for a rigorous program. To prepare for this experience, a student needs to:

bulletmaintain acceptable attendance patterns (10 days or fewer per year in grades 7 through 10);
bulletmaintain a C+ or better grades in the listed courses as prerequisites;
bulletmaintain average to above-average scores on Guidance-administered evaluations, with counselor and/or teacher recommendations.
bulletmaintain established study skills as determined by classroom success
bullethave a desire to pursue additional education beyond high school.
