Computer Technology/cisco academy
This course is a three-year program that encompasses most of the areas that make up the present day computer field. In the first year, students delve into the inner workings of computer system components. Emphasis is placed on diagnostics and troubleshooting with a variety of industry standard test equipment and software. Students are prepared to challenge the Comp TIA A+ certification tests in both the Core area and Windows specialty examinations.
This program is approved as a Certified Cisco Networking Academy and integrates the first four semesters of the Cisco curriculum, amounting to 280 hours. The Cisco Academy approach combines web-based, instructor-led, hands-on laboratory to teach networking and information technology. Successful students are prepared to qualify themselves as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) through passing the Cisco certification examination.
Students graduate from the program with a well-rounded computer background technically prepared to enter a very promising job market. Successful students may continue in semesters 5 through 8 at selected post-secondary institutions to attain further certification as a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
