The Retail Marketing/Entrepreneurship program is a three-year program
designed to prepare students for positions in the retail
merchandising fields.
Retail Marketing/Entrepreneurship is a program for
upbeat, outgoing, career-minded people. Retail
Marketing/Entrepreneurship is an instructional program that deals
with preparing individuals in the fields of sales, distribution, and
marketing operations. These fields focus on the process of
direct wholesale, retail buying and selling techniques.
Marketing education prepares individuals to
perform one or more marketing functions such as selling, promotion,
product/service management, distribution and marketing information
management. In addition, Retail
Marketing/Entrepreneurship emphasizes technical knowledge of
products and/or services marketed, communications, economics,
technological and computer skills, and the ability to deal with
attitudes associated with human relations.

Students receive in-depth instruction as well as
hands-on experience in entrepreneurship management concepts, business economics,
business law, business ethics, communications, and human relations.
Students will receive training in product/services, business layout, pricing,
financial records, competition, profit, risk management, customer service,
decision-making, leadership, and business plan development. While in this
program, students will have the opportunity to work in a real business situation
("the Store"). Individuals will get to experience working with the public

Retail Marketing/Entrepreneurship
participates in the student organization, DECA (an Association of Marketing
Students) which provides students with the opportunity to become involved in
many exciting activities related to their marketing curriculum. There are
three levels when competing (districts, states, and nationals). We are
proud to be a member of the National Retail Federation (NRF), a national
organization for people who specialize in sales and customer service.

distribution jobs, the outlook through the 2000's foresees many
employment opportunities. More than 6 million new retail and
wholesale trade workers are needed in the field of marketing.
