CSC 001  Introduction to Microcomputer Information Systems (Non-Credit course)
Provides an overview of data processing and the personal computer for students without any prior computer experience. Introduces hardware, software, concepts and terminology to increase computer literacy.
Note:  CSC 001 may be waived by demonstrating basic computer knowledge.  See the admission counselor for details.

CSC 101  Microcomputer Operations (4 CR.)

Focuses on understanding the relationship of microcomputer hardware, system software, application software, and the use of the graphical user interface.  Topic concentration includes disk and file management, system utilities, DOS batch files, and system configuration.
Lecture Credits: 3 -- Lab Credits: 1

CSC 112  Programming Fundamentals (10 CR.)
Introduces program design and development.  Topics included are computer logic, programming structures, flowcharting, and object-oriented design.  A business solution project developed in teams gives practical experience in systems development and programming to create an end-user application.  Integration with common business applications and database is included.
Lecture Credits: 6 -- Lab Credits: 4

CSC 114 Web Page Design (3.3 CR.)
Introduces basic web page design principles using software and programming language.  Topics include browsers, graphics, links to additional data, and introduction to Dreamweaver, integration between web page and database is included.
Lecture Credits: 2 -- Lab Credits: 1.3

CSC 122  Business Computer Applications (8.6 CR.)
Introduces common business applications for the personal computer, including word processing, spreadsheet, and slide presentation.  Training will include basic to advanced tasks that produce business letters and labels, reports, budgets, financial forecasts, and inventories.  Formal class presentation is included.

CSC 132  Microcomputer Systems Management and Networking (5.3 CR.)
Encompasses hardware and software selection through analysis, installation, and update.  The majority of focus is on the basics of network hardware and software, network protocol, network user administration, and network security..
Lecture Credits: 3 -- Lab Credits: 2.3

CSC 142  Microcomputer Database Management (10 CR.)
An in-depth study of database management covering efficient database design, screen designs, queries, multiple file databases, and database programming. Offers a working knowledge of a commercial database management system/. This course introduces Structure Query Language (SQL) and principles to be used in Programming Fundamentals.
